What lens type should I buy as a gift? I don’t know what kind of color blindness my gift recipient has, and I don’t want to spoil the surprise.

The best way to know which lens type to choose is to have the gift recipient take a color blindness test. But, if that would spoil the surprise, we have some tips.

About 80% of people with color blindness have red-green colorblindness and, of those, most will have either Deutronomaly or Protanomaly. Deuteranomaly is the most common type so chances are our Outdoor Deutan or Outdoor Deutan Polarized lenses would work. We also offer our Indoor Universal lens which works for both Deutronomaly or Protanomaly.

If you know their type of color blindness or this is your gift recipient’s first pair of EnChroma glasses, we recommend purchasing a pair of outdoor glasses. The outdoor lenses work in brighter light and produce more vibrant results while the indoor ones are milder and their results are often more subtle.
